What if my employer tells me not to file a workers' comp claim?

What if my New York employer tells me not to file a workers’ comp claim or threatens to fire me if I do?

One of the most important reasons to hire a lawyer anytime that you’ve been injured, but especially when you’ve been injured on the job, is so that you have somebody, in your corner, fighting for you. Most employers will try to take advantage of you, if you’ve been injured on the job, and will tell you things that aren’t necessarily true. We get in between you and your employer, and make sure that the lawyer follows the law with respect to your claim. Make sure that you are able to file a worker’s comp claim and, if you return to work, that you’re not fired in retaliation for bringing that worker’s comp claim, because it is your legal right to do so. As your lawyer, we protect you from bosses who may try to take advantage of you and may try to use things, like that, against you when those are not legal and we can protect you.

You may be entitled to a settlement. Don't wait until it's too late
