The Firm Files Suit for a Plaintiff in a Construction Accident

At Greenberg & Stein, we are dedicated to helping injured construction workers who are in need of representation. In New York City there are constantly new construction projects where employees are put at risk to dangerous construction accidents In New York, contractors often want work done fast, so they may fail to take necessary measures for employers in an effort to get a job done quicker. Recently, a plaintiff came to our firm after he was injured in a ladder accident. The plaintiff was working with his foreman and two other workers, but was the first to finish his assignment at the construction site.

When he asked his foreman what he should do after completing his assignment, he was told to climb down the ladder and get a box of tools that were needed. The plaintiff complied with the orders, and gathered up the heavy tool bag or tool kit. He then began to climb back up the ladder. Unfortunately, the ladder was not locked into place and shifted when the plaintiff began to climb. The plaintiff fell 30 feet as a result. While the plaintiff may have had a harness on, it was not connected to anything because he was climbing up and down the ladder. This put him in a dangerous situation. In addition to wearing a faulty harness, the ladder that the plaintiff climbed was unsecured.

At Greenberg & Stein we chose to file suit on behalf of this plaintiff and seek a settlement for him because of the circumstances. Construction site employers should place a large emphasis on safety and make sure that all employers are safe while on the job site. Thankfully, our plaintiff also has witnesses who are able to testify about the situation and prove that our client deserves a settlement for his injuries.
