Study Shows Pollution Leads to Cancer

A new study posted on Health Day News announces that air pollution leads to cancer.  Pollution has been directly linked to various forms of cancer, specifically lung cancer. The United Nation’s World Health Organization has official classified air pollution as a prime cause of cancer throughout the world. The International Agency for Research on Cancer says that dirty air should be placed in the same category of carcinogens as tobacco smoke, ultraviolet radiation, and plutonium.

About 223,000 lung cancer deaths globally have been linked to air pollution. The majority of these cancer victims are located in Asian nations that are rapidly industrializing, such as China. Yet the threat is just as prevalent hear in the United States, specifically in very busy and congested cities. One of the busiest and most crowded cities in America is New York City. If you suffer lung cancer and believe that it is the result of air pollution that you were consistently exposed to, you may want to seek compensation from the city or from any other party that you think attributed to your serious illness.
