John K. Kouroupas

John K. Kouroupas is a graduate of Fordham University and Brooklyn Law School. Upon graduation from law school in 2002, Mr. Kouroupas was appointed an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of New York. In 2004, Mr. Kouroupas obtained a trial position for the City of New York and obtained over ten favorable jury verdicts for the City of New York. In 2006, Mr. Kouroupas became Senior Counsel for the City of New York and was appointed Assistant Supervising Attorney. In 2007, Mr. Kouroupas joined the firm of Papa, DePaola & Brounstein and handled primarily police misconduct cases along with auto, construction, and premises accidents. In 2015, Mr. Kouroupas obtained a Bronx Verdict of $1,800,000.00 against the New York City Police Department. (New York Law Journal Highest Verdicts in NY) In 2017, Mr. Kouroupas obtained a Queens verdict of $400,000.00 against the Port Authority Police Department. (New York Law Journal Highest Verdicts in 2018) Mr. Kouroupas has lectured in three Continued Legal Education Courses on Police Misconduct and Liability. In 2019, Mr. Kouroupas joined Greenberg & Stein as a senior litigator and trial attorney.
