Massive Collision Leads to Severe Injuries on Staten Island

A chaotic massive collision caused severe injuries on Staten Island on Thursday, September 5th, 2013. A driver accidentally smashed into a cop car on the peninsula when the officers were rushing through traffic in order to aid another victim in a different car crash on the island. The NYPD officer was injured in the collision. According to investigations, the driver that hit the police officer was driving on a suspended license.

The victim in the other crash, which the police officer was attending to, was hit only a few minutes before. The police officer was taken to the Richmond University Medical Center in stable condition. He had severe lacerations on his arms. The driver of the vehicle which hit the police officer was arrested at the scene of the accident. The other woman was also taken away on a stretcher with unknown injuries.
