Kraft Recalls 1.77 Million Pounds of Velveeta Products Due to Mislabeling
If you have allergies, then you will want to steer clear of Velveeta products for the time being as Kraft recalls their product line trying to correct a mistake that caused millions of products to be sold without the correct nutrition and allergen information written on them. The 1.77 million pounds of Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets were not properly labeled, according to the Food and Drug Administration. As a result, the company must be recalled. The labels do not state that the packages contain hydrolyzed soy protein and dried soy sauce, two products which are considered to be allergens.
Thankfully, this is the only Velveeta and Kraft product that is involved in the recall. No reports of illness have been made to the company yet, or to the USDA’s food and inspection services. Yet the mislabeled products could cause severe allergy attacks which could result in hospitalization or death. If you suffer an allergy attack after you consume a product that was mislabeled and contained ingredients that were not put on the package, then you have the right to seek compensation from the company that sold the product.
If you suffer from a severe allergic attack, don’t hesitate to call a local personal injury attorney to represent you in your case. By suing the company responsible, you may be able to get the compensation that will cover all of your medical expenses associated with the incident and any other damages that you are facing.
